FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How soon can I get my license?

That really depends on you and your level of motivation, as well as how quickly you want to progress. Fortunately, the process is not lengthy, and many students are able to complete it within 60 days. However, if you need or want to take more time, you can extend the timeline to several months.

How much time should I spend studying?

During the 30-hour Principles of Estate course, we advise students they will need to dedicate time outside of class to studying, preparing, and memorizing the terms and concepts. However, the amount of time required varies greatly from one student to the next.

Is it difficult to find an agency to work for?

While we don’t directly assist with job placement, finding a job is not difficult at all. In fact, once you successfully complete the process and pass the exam, brokers will start calling to recruit you. So it’s just as important for you to interview them as it is for them to interview you.

What are the requirements for a license, such as age and education?

Obtaining a real estate license is a fairly straightforward process. First, you must meet two basic requirements: be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Next, you’ll need to complete a mandatory course that prepares you for the license exam, as well as a practice course. Additionally, you’ll need to submit your fingerprints for a background investigation. Finally, the key step is to find a broker to work with and submit your license application through them.

What courses do I need to take, in order to get my license?

The training program consists of two 30-hour courses, totaling 60 hours. The Kansas Principles of Real Estate course is solely focused on preparing you for the license exam. It teaches the necessary knowledge and skills to pass the test. The companion course, titled Kansas Real Estate Practice Course, focuses on the practical application of the concepts and principles learned in the principles course. This course lays the foundation for how you can use your license and will be further developed by the brokerage you choose to affiliate with. They will help take you to the next level in your career.

How many hours do I need to spend with an instructor?

The state explicitly mandates 60 hours of training, and it is mandatory to complete 100% of the training. We understand that our students are adult learners with busy lives and families, and that unforeseen circumstances can arise, so we do our best to work with students who have scheduling conflicts. However, any missed time must be made up before a certificate of completion can be issued.
